Senior Squad swimmers, Emma Boyle and Robin Pfeiffer, head south to put distance swims to the test!

With thanks to Ennis Swimming Club, we had the opportunity to swim 1500m and 800m Freestyle last Friday 23 February 2018.

Just a month after breaking the club record in 200m Breaststroke, Emma Boyle put in an impressive showing in the 800m Freestyle – her first venture in this distance. Emma started strong, keeping her 50’s under 40 seconds, faster than her recent 400m Freestyle PB. Emma finished the swim with unwavering splits to bring home bronze with 10:41.19 – and a new DIV2 time. We’re looking forward to seeing Emma swim 400m Freestyle, when it next gets an outing!

Not content with attempting the 1500m Freestyle for the first time, Robin Pfeiffer broke records. Robin put in a fearless performance as he made his first 50m in 29:06, and looked strong throughout 60 lengths with stable 34 second 50’s. Robin powered home, finishing his last 50 in 32:07 before winning gold with 17:19.59, and setting a new club record!
