Swim Ireland plan to deliver the Regional Squad Programme for 2020/21 for the next 6-9 months, and in line with that of the Irish Government’s risk management strategy.

Without current competitive results from which to select athletes, and with access to training restricted for so many clubs, the intention is to deliver the Regional Squad Programme virtually between January and June in 2021, and offer these learning opportunities to registered competitive athletes who meet the criteria as outlined in the document below.

Swim Ireland Regional Squad Programme 2020 – 2021

Selections for all squads will be confirmed by 31st December 2020 and the programme will run from 9th January to 30th June 2021.

Regional Skills Academy, Regional Development Squad Stage 1 and Stage 2

Athletes will be asked to submit an expression of interest from 23rd November 2020. The link to this form will be circulated in advance of this date.

Regional Pathway Squad

Athletes under consideration for selection on the Regional Pathway Squad will be asked to submit a Statement of Intent. Selections will be confirmed in writing on 1st December 2020.
