As every swimmer knows, there’s something “magical” about breaking a minute for the first time for 100 metres – whatever your stroke! After all, 59.99 is so much faster than 1:00.00!
Congratulations Robin, on breaking the 60 second barrier for 100m freestyle at the Senior School Championships last weekend with 59.79!
To celebrate… why not read “Barrier Breakers” by Phillip Whitten for Swimming World Magazine, stories of the first men and women to crack the 60 second barrier for the 100 freestyle…
Clarinbridge Oyster Marathon Events take place in Kilcornan from 8am to 2pm this Saturday 9th September.
There will be a one way system in place for the duration of the event. For the safety of all participants, traffic for the pool must use the entrance on the village side of Kilcornan and exit by the gate lodge.
Parents must allow extra travel time to arrive to collect swimmers. Peak times for runners will be 8.00am. Please listen to the marshals’ instructions, who will do their best not to delay your entry/exit.
Please park behind the swimming pool into the left, and not directly in front of the pool as it will be easier to exit after the training session.
Bluefin is back in the pool from Monday 28th August.
NEXT TEAM TRY OUTS: Monday 4th September
