2018/19 Squad List and Schedule

New Training Schedule for all Swimmers

As Bluefin SC continues to grow into the 2018/19 season, the team squads and criteria have been adjusted, resulting in a new training schedule for all swimmers.

Squad List 2018/19

Competitive swimming requires dedication, patience and lots of hard work. The frequency and duration of training is determined by the ability of the swimmer, which allows swimmers to develop at their own pace and amongst similarly skilled athletes.

Squad Expectations

  • Arrive 10 minutes before sessions.
  • Be coachable – prepared to listen to the coach and work effectively to meet training targets.
  • Be respectful to the coaching staff, team mates and volunteers, both at training and competition.
  • Be available to represent the club at galas.
  • Have fun!

Basic kit requirements for all squads include two hats, two pairs of goggles, a pair of short fins, a snorkel and a drink bottle.

The new training schedule takes effect from Monday 27th August 2018.

Term End and Summer Schedule

Next Wednesday 20th June is the final swim session of this season for all swimmers.

The summer schedule for Division swimmers starts Saturday 23rd June. Members of Senior Squad are welcome to attend the summer session, however, please book in with Helen at, as space maybe limited.

Please note: Friday morning sessions finish Friday 15th June, and Tuesday 19th June will be the final session in Renmore for this season.

Dryland Winner!

Well done to the athletes that got stuck into our dryland training sessions. Our fantastic Coach James has really worked these kids – and we are seeing the results in the pool!

Congratulations to Kieran for winning Coach James’ prize of €20 for the hardest working athlete! There was blood, sweat and tears (of laughter) from everyone, but motivated Kieran beat the big boys to bag the booty!

Training Schedule Changes for weekend 19th/20th May

Due to the Laser Development Meet this weekend, there are changes to the training schedule. Please note, there is no training for Development and Skills Squads this weekend.

Saturday 19th May 6:30am to 8am: Pool for Senior/Junior Squads
Sunday 20th May 8:45am to 10:45am: Pool for Senior/Junior Squads Sunday 20th May 5:45pm to 6:45pm: Dryland for those registered
Sunday 20th May 7pm to 8:30pm: Pool for Senior/Junior Squads 

Reminder: From the 1st May 2018, all Sunday 7:30am sessions are cancelled. From 20th May, Sunday sessions will start at the earlier time of 8:45am for all swimmers.
